Growing up in the northern part of Denmark has left its melancholic mark on the pop artists’ songwriting. At first glance, one might think it’s innocent pop music, but there is much more than meets the eye. No topic is too shameful to her as she speaks on topics like: body shame, heartbreak, loneliness and feeling misunderstood. Influenced by genres like new wave, dark pop, and hyperpop, Jessie Ka creates strong images in an extremely relatable way, about identity, about life as a woman, the pursuit of being your true self, and learning to give zero care about what other people think.
